Specialized Isotopes is a technology on the Galactic Warfare technology tree with a research cost of 100 Science. It unlocks one Support Module (Invasion) and one Star System Improvement, requires research in HE Batteries or in Unstable Isotope Manipulation, and allows further research in Autonomous Construction, Isotope Fabrication, and Basic G2A Systems.

"Refining of artificially created elements and development of neutron-heavy versions of these elements provides high-mass materials. These have many military uses, both offensive and defensive."

Notes[]

  • The Vaulters refer to this technology as "Military-Artisanal Complex". It has the following description: "A new theory in development of complex societies, it turns much manufacturing theory on its head. Essentially, the use of highly coupled, massively on-line individual machine shops permit highly efficient local industry while maintaining the benefits of large-scale, standardized products."

Siege Kinetics[]

  • 180 Invasion

Cost : 20 Industry Weight: 25 Tonnage

"Ship-to-ground projectiles require highly specialized machining as they need to resist heat, friction, and wind."

Stealth Construction[]

Stealth Construction
  • +25 Defense per Population on Star System
  • -1 Dust on improvement

Cost : 120 Industry

"Suprise! That large, flat, poorly defended area conveniently located near a number of major metropolitan areas is actually the heart of a large, dense, and heavily armed bunker system."

Adaptation Centers (Vaulters)[]

Research-adaptation-centers
  • +5 Science per planet colonized on system.
  • +25 Defense per Population on Star System
  • -2 Dust on improvement

Cost : 120 Industry

"While these centers are designed to study new planets and help Vaulters settlers adapt to them, like every Vaulter infrastructure they include defensive turrets, bunkers, and warehouses. The research that goes on within is equally defense-oriented, and helps Vaulter settlers dig in to new planets and convert them into strongly defended bases"
