Low-Temp Hydration is a technology on the Exploration and Expansion technology tree with a research cost of 7500 . It unlocks one Planet Improvement and one Star System Improvement, requires research in Atmospheric Engineering or in Applied Atmospherics, and allows further research in Exotic Thermodynamics.
"Many specialized forms of life and valuable resources exist on planets with arctic or tundra environments. Through the use of low-temperature hydration, a process of cooling a planet's crust and depositing layers of H2O in liquid and solid form, planets can be terraformed into frozen or partially frozen habitats."
Arctic Transformation[]
"While cold is amply available in the 0 Kelvin vacuum of space, the process of applying the correct amount of cold while hydrating a planet is not a simple operation. Atmospheric engineering and an advanced knowledge of water chemistry is needed to complete the process successfully."
Hydrosequencing[]
Requires: Titanium-70
"The ability to track individual water molecules through the water cycle provides an instantaneous picture of absorption, evaporation, and precipitation across every planet. A gold mine of data is produced that improves agriculture, industrial usage, and private consumption of the galaxy's most precious resource."
