Low-Temp Hydration is a technology on the Exploration and Expansion technology tree with a research cost of 7500 Science. It unlocks one Planet Improvement and one Star System Improvement, requires research in Atmospheric Engineering or in Applied Atmospherics, and allows further research in Exotic Thermodynamics.

"Many specialized forms of life and valuable resources exist on planets with arctic or tundra environments. Through the use of low-temperature hydration, a process of cooling a planet's crust and depositing layers of H2O in liquid and solid form, planets can be terraformed into frozen or partially frozen habitats."
